Room 403 is based on a series of loosely drawn verticals we first explored in ink, inspired by early ticking stripes, but softened through irregular spacing and variation in line weight. The final repeat was developed in the studio to feel graphic but understated, with a warm, lived-in character that integrates naturally into the space.
Room 403 is our boldest design in the collection, a high-contrast interpretation of the same hand-drawn verticals we explored throughout the series. The deep aubergine and chalk palette was developed to bring both warmth and definition to the bed. From a distance, the pattern holds structure; up close, you’ll see the irregular lines and soft edges that give it texture and ease. The reverse is a solid aubergine, understated and grounding, perfect for folding back or layering.
