Plot Twist Rug

from £96.00

The Plot Twist rug is constructed from offset clusters of densely woven blue dotwork, forming a loose, irregular grid across a chalk toned base. Rather than following a fixed geometry, the layout is designed with interruption in mind, sections of pattern are broken by quiet gaps, creating a sense of rhythm that feels deliberate but never rigid.

The dotwork has a stitched quality to it, referencing both traditional embroidery and early digital drafting techniques. From a distance, the rug reads as light and tonal; up close, the blue breaks through with subtle definition. It performs well beneath furniture, holding visual structure without overpowering a room.

Flat-woven and low-pile, it’s finished with a short fringe at both ends. While the construction is durable and designed for everyday use, the rug’s design intention is quieter: to offer pattern through pause and spacing, rather than through repeat or contrast.

The composition was loosely inspired by grid notebooks, and the kind of mapping we do with a pencil before anything official begins, a study in order, imperfection, and the spaces in between.
